Perhaps it is also time to ask Mahathir to account for the many billions he spent with impunity - CyberJaya, his palace, Putrajaya, the Twin Towers, and million lost in derivatives, speculation, tin market, etc.

What happens now is an extension of what he established - the culture of extravagance and corruption.

This is a golden opportunity for local universities to do something good for the country: set up a group of thinking scholars to critically and objectively - analyse the positive or negative contributions of Mahathir during his tenure as our PM - do the various projects initiated by Mahathir - really bring benefits to Malaysia and Malaysians?

(e.g. the Bakun dam, the Bank Bumuputra incidents, the highway, the Multimedia Super Corridor, the Petronas Twin Towers, the Proton car projects, Putrajaya, the steel industry, the attempt to corner the tin market of LME, the toll contracts signed with the operators, etc.)

How much money has been lost? Would it be better if the money were distributed to the citizens of Malaysia?

Vision 2020 is destined to fail because Malaysia has the naive mentality of "buying its way" to "fully-developed nation status".

Ask ourselves: Are we mentally ready? Are we socio-economically ready?

Do we have the skills, perseverance, knowledge and above all - the right attitude and ethics?

Look at all the developed nations. Is there any one country that has achieved its developed nation status by chance? There is surely no short cut!

Are our management and system of this country failing?

Having good and efficient leadership is one thing, but having a management without a good system is scary, because good leaders come and go and we can't depend on just that……….therefore having an efficient and good system is crucial or else, disaster is waiting to happen.

Racism and racial discrimination have been part of Malaysian social, political, economic and cultural realities ever since colonial times.

Today, race has been so deeply institutionalised that it is a key factor determining benefits from government development policies, social policy, education policy, entry into educational institutions, bids for business contracts, cultural policy, discounts for purchasing houses and other official policies.

Practically every aspect of Malaysian life is permeated by the so-called 'bumi policy' based on malay-centrism. This is unabashedly spelled out by political leaders in the daily mass media in Malaysia.

It is an established fact that racial polarisation is prevalent in various Malaysian institutions. A survey by University Malaya shows that 98 percent of malay students do not mix with non-malays while 99 percent of Chinese students and 97 percent of Indian students do not mingle with the other races.

While the government tries to account for this problem by blaming other extraneous factors such as the existence of vernacular schools, it is clear that the roots of polarisation lie in this institutionalisation of racism and racial discrimination.

The ruling party Umno prides itself on the supposedly 'successful' affirmative action in favour of bumi. Bumi literally means 'princes of the soil', the official epithet for malays and other indigenous peoples but which excludes the original peoples, i.e. the Orang Asli of Peninsula Malaysia. This has been the cornerstone of development plans since the New Economic Policy was started in 1971.

Consequently, while this populist bumi policy has been applied to the benefit of bumi as a whole, the new malay ruling elite is strategically placed to reap the full benefits of this racially based policy. Totally committed to capitalism and to privatisation, this policy has ensured that the non-malay local and foreign elite have also gained from the New Economic Policy since 1971. This class cohesion among the Malaysian ruling elite underpins the racialist politics which has characterised Malaysian society since Independence.

Racial discrimination in the realm of culture is seen not only in the education policy but also in the discrimination against non-malay cultures and religions in the National Cultural Policy. Non-Muslims face obstacles in their freedom to build places of worship and access to burial grounds, among other complaints.

Racism and racial discrimination have dominated Malaysian society for far too long. Now that the malay ruling elite has clearly gained control of the Malaysian economy, it is high time for a new consensus based on non-racial factors such as class, sector and need to justify affirmative action.

The 12 realities ---

1. On paper, citizenship is secure - in reality, they say if you don't like it here, you can go away

2. On paper, we solve inter-community issues by win-win consultation - in reality, issues are silenced by subtle threats of unrest made on grounds of the supremacy, of one community's master and their unquestionable agenda

3. On paper, Malaysia can be great - in reality, 'Malaysia Boleh' remains just a word, an empty cry, devoid of any spirit and life to ensure the nation's survival

4. On paper, we have the meritocracy system - in reality, quota system is still running

5. On paper, we are a multiracial country - in reality, we have one community which is more equal than other communities

6. On paper, we have the national agenda - in reality, it is the malay agenda

7. On paper, even the NEP is good - in reality, it sucks

8. On paper, Pak Lah is fighting corruption - in reality, no Umno member is standing together with him

9. On paper, we have parliamentarians - in reality, we have a zoo, and only a few are ministers, the majority being exhibited specimens

10. On paper, we are a peaceful country - in reality, the absence of conflict is superficial, very fragile

11. On paper, we have a police force to look after our security - in reality, we need some protection from the police

12. On paper, we had the report, and 125 recommendations of the Royal Commission on the Police - in reality, we have just a book, non-act upon

We made a decision to emigrate to Australia 15 years ago deserting my high fly corporate position with our three children.

If history could turn back, we would still do the same.

It is a joke when our three children are fully qualified in their respective professions, then our Malaysia leaders only realize that "Actually English is very important in this era of globalization, let's go back to English again in our primary school for science and mathematics subjects".

It is fortunate that we had our own thinking and were able to jump out from this "black box" of trial and error type of management in practically every aspect of the government administration machinery. As a result, our children do not waste their precious years.

Our children enjoy the experience of equal opportunity not only in education but also in employment. That has a very strong impact in character development because then they believe in themselves i.e. their own ability and equal opportunity available for personal development to the fullest extent. And they could fight for their own rights too simply because the environment encourages them to do so i.e. freedom to think, and freedom to express. They enjoy their work in their respective professions and they have both close Asian and Australian friends.

The Australian authority treats the problem of racial discrimination very seriously and takes action very fast. I still remember those days when my youngest son was teased by certain racial remarks by his schoolmate. My wife reported the case to the school authority and after a proper investigation, the Aussie kid was made to make a public apology to my son and was suspended a week from school attendance.

Australia herself is a country of migrants from all over the world, the Britishs, the Italians and other Europeans also never give up their citizenships although they may stay for over many many years. If they tell you to go back to China, you have equal right to tell them to go back to whatever country they come from. "Fight for your right" is the spirit.

What we are concerned is actually the management of the country. There is enough wealth to be distributed among all the people who can theoretically enjoy better education, better life and medical facility. But poor management and the evil "corruption" have eroded away what the people deserve. If people demand a change, "racialism" is always a powerful tool to protect the regime.

The Australian government extinguishes any little spark that concerns racial issue. There are strict laws and they are very good in enforcement. The two party systems ensure no one monopolizes the government. If the government is not good, people will vote it out for sure.

It is a land of plenty, and of equal opportunity for everyone. One will make his way if he is prepared to seize the opportunity and work hard for it. No one believes in "God" will give, and most believes the creation and reward from their own hands and intelligence.

Though we pay high taxes, the future is more or less ensured as in case we are sick or in difficulty, we have all the assistance from the authority. It is the right for every kid in Australia to have the opportunity to finish his tertiary education if he could make an attempt and possible financial assistance is always there.

Australia's economy is very robust now and most graduates and school leavers are doing very well. My three kids who are qualified as professionals at a very young age are doing very well. They would not have achieved that type of level if we were to remain in our country of birth. Thank God!

We face less racial discrimination in university and workplace in Australia than in our country of birth.

The ironical fact is that we are being treated more a first class citizen in our host country than in our own country.

Human rights, good administration, equal opportunity and transparency convince us that it is no point wasting our precious time in our own country.

If you really miss our own country, earn and save more money in the host country and join the shiver hair program later on. If you have the money, any country will welcome you for sure.

In general, it is an educated society. People talk not shout, and people reason not accuse and more over it is a much cleaner and more beautiful place to live. I am pleased with my decision and have no regrets at all.

The events of May 13, 1969 are largely documented via second and even third hand reports. One really does not know whether there have been distortions and exaggerations as such information gets passed on.

I believe that social historians, both local and foreign, should be encouraged to perform research into May 13. The nation should have now matured sufficiently not to be swayed by the influence of certain charismatic politicians whose prime goal is to suppress knowledge in order to remain in control.

Such research may actually bring Malaysia to a new level of awareness and even inspire better integration in moving forward as opposed to the appalling polarisation seen today courtesy of money and religious politics amongst others.

What is worrying is that after 40 years, we have many indications that the NEP's negatives may have already overtaken the positives a long time ago. If after 40 years, say 20 percent of middle-income bumis would be jobless in an unprotected market, then they are certainly in dire straits.

The truth is that the NEP policy has already been undertaken so it is pointless to argue whether its positive has outweighed its negative. The point is that even if this had been the case, it cannot go on indefinitely and that its removal must be the eventual outcome.

As a nation, Malaysia will never move forward with the NEP or any re-engineered replacement. Many have written about such reasons and continue to do so.

One needs to go back to the drawing board and ask why the simplicity of being ruled and subdued in the colonial era led to peace and harmony and little envy, whilst apparent 'freedom' has not.

Now, we are only just discovering the wonders of globalisation but sadly, thanks again to the evolution of Malaysian society norms and practices, not every Malaysian is eligible to be a global citizen.

Malaysians, who now play on the British playing field according to their rules, usually find it level.

The question to ask is when would the playing field be level again and why should it not be made level now? And, when will the goal posts also be fixed? After all, it will harmonize us with the rest of the world and will select those who can vote with their feet (i.e. those who can emigrate) as well as those who cannot.

As stated, humans will always migrate but if a person's own country cannot actively retain its own skilled and semi-skilled sons and daughters, then the government of that country really ought to look hard at itself in the mirror and ask why - that is, if it really cares about its citizens.

So, perhaps, now with the dawn of an era of increasing transparency and accountability, I now ask: 'How about a royal commission on reducing emigration?'

Why can't we see everyone in Malaysia as Malaysians, rather than to note the racial identity of each person?

All are Malaysians of various descents. At national level they are no different, nor should be seen as different, no matter what their dress, language, race, religion or uniform.

Please wake up to the call for unity, or start feeling sorry for yourself for getting lost in the mad rush towards development, which has probably misplaced the Malaysian in you.

Unity in a multi-racial society can only be experienced if all races are seen as 'one' under the same flag. Therefore start calling yourselves Malaysians and accept nothing less!

Well said, we wish you well and kindly dismiss those who question your motive or patriotism. These are the bigots whose 'hidden agenda' and myopic vision that is keeping this wonderful bountiful country for progressing.

If you are emigrating for your kids education, you have made a right decision. Remember your kids will be influenced by the good and bad values overseas.

The ideal age for emigration is 16 years old or less. That is why your kids will make it in their careers and settle down successfully overseas.

Well done. Welcome to western culture where there are:

1. Equal opportunity regardless or race or religion
2. Environmental Awareness
3. Government subsidised healthcare
4. Government subsidised tertiary education as well as primary and secondary schools
5. Higher quality living
6. Protection of the labour market via enforced minimum wage across all industry sectors
7. Social welfare standards
8. Unconditional democracy

In the globalization era, we are truly citizens of the world and it is no shame to relocate to 'greener pastures' should you have the ability and the means. Why stay in a place where there are blatant abuses, discrimination and limited prospect for those unconnected!

Feudalistic rules are maintained to fleece the masses, where the titled and corrupted are the 'untouchables' but honest and hardworking citizens must bear the full brunt of the law (and taxed to the hilt).

"There is more than enough to feed the world but not enough to feed the greedy."

If you compute the cost of sending 2 children to an oversea university (probably RM200k to RM500k), it is more cost effective to emigrate even if it paying a bit more tax or giving up a cushion job to enter into the uncharted waters.

If you made it here with an ever-moving goal post; I don't think it will be hard for you to find your niche in a level playing field.

Farewell but do keep us in your prayers.

In the globalize world, it is amazing that there still exist segregation, enjoying all kind of free subsidies, while their fellow brothers and sisters have to pay their own way.

It is sad for someone who is an academician has this kind of mentality. The nation cannot prosper with this archaic thought.

Be like me, never buy or even bother reading Malaysian newspaper. Who cares anyway? Each year more and more experts from Malaysia emigrating to other countries leaving morons behind. That is the fact.

To me, I think there is never an issue or question whatsoever to have good Malaysian students (bumis or non-bumis) in the UiTM or UTAR or whatever. They should be admitted because they are good students and by being present there, they will serve to improve and increase the quality and standard of education in these institutions. World-class higher institution of learning takes many decades to become one.

Race is never an issue here. I think only these BN based politicians would like to "cooperate" from times to times to highlight the issue.

Wake up!

I pity PM Badawi, he is better off hiring some zookeepers for his administration.

We see a lot of problems reported in the news which seems to happen only in Bolehland. Malaysia and Singapore inherited the British administration system, and the rule of law.

Until many years after independence, there were systems of public tenders in awarding government projects to contractors. There were proper procedures for the government professionals to evaluate tenders, and those which were deemed to have the best value for money would be selected.

The departments concerned acted for the interest of the government and made sure that government funds, whether from natural resources or taxpayers were properly spent.

In the name of efficiency, the tender system was suspended in the 1980s. That allowed subjective judgments for awarding contracts, and corruptions mushroomed. Further, in the name of NEP, the only check for contracts seemed to be that the awardees must be malays.

That facilitated money politics although not necessarily in cash term.

Even before the NEP, scholarship awards from the state and federal governments were mostly for the malays, who were selected from among the best in the group. There were also non-malays scholarship awardees but fewer in number. Now……….

Before NEP, students were accepted to university courses based on their entry qualifications even though malays who did not meet the entry requirements were also accepted. There was no variation in passing mark to graduate from the universities. After NEP……….

Before NEP, we saw lecturers and professors of various nationalities and skin colors, now……….

It may be argued that the more the non-malays voice against the NEP, the more the malays are convinced that it should be retained.

NEP proved the convenient cover for corruption. Without the NEP, there will be no cover for corruption, no push factor for brain drain, no wastage of government revenue, a more attractive place for investors, a more conducive environment for business activities, and the income level of the people would rise.

It would be difficult to convince the malays that Singaporeans are on average as intelligent as we are in Bolehland, but on average, Singaporeans has 6 times our earning power.

Yes, it is on average, meaning that people in the same job function should be getting on average that many times our Malaysia income. The difference there was no rampant corruption in Singapore whereas in Malaysia corruption has been institutionalised.

Is Malaysia ruled by gangsters? Though we have our own rules, we have to submit to "their" rules if we want to live peacefully. Malaysia = no hope.

Again I say, God is fair. Other countries have natural disasters like volcanoes, earthquakes, etc. We have our Ketuanan Melayu to destroy us all. Do they care? They are busy storing up riches and can easily fly away to paradise.

A very sad situation for Malaysia, a beautiful country runs by imbeciles. If I had a magic wand I would like to banish the whole lot in our government and invite Singapore to govern Malaysia. That way we can be one of the economic giants.

I have lived and worked in six foreign countries, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Pakistan, and Singapore, and have visited even more countries. I must say that in all my travels, I have not had the unfortunate experience of racial discrimination. Sure there were cultural barriers, inefficiencies and language difficulties. But never was there a particular country where I was systemically discriminated against.

In Australia, even foreigners, are protected by the equal opportunity commission. Japan, where the locals are known to be xenophobic, have proven to be one of the most hospitable people in the world.

Even in India and Pakistan, there is no single group that is constitutionally and systemically discriminated against. Sure, there are religious fault lines between these two countries due to history. In both countries, I was treated with the same respect for locals, if not more.

The main point that missed is that in spite of all the hype surrounding the 'successes' Malaysia has arguably achieved, it has not integrated its ethnically different races any closer.

In Malaysia, racial discrimination is institutionalised, in Singapore perhaps it is done tacitly. In the public sector in Malaysia, it is no coincidence to note that the majority who hold the top posts are the bumis.

Well, without doing much research, I can tell that Singapore's president no less, and its foreign minister are Indians. Even from a cynical point of view, their positions in comparison with our Malaysian situation, are something our minorities here can only dream of. Of course, we cannot compare our Yang Di Pertuan Agong and other Sultans with the position of president, but a Chinese or Indian Malaysian foreign minister to represent Malaysia?

There is no point in arguing about favouritism and nepotism as they exist everywhere in the world and it is up to the electorate in each country, to decide to what extent they can tolerate them. The crux of the problem here is institutionalised racial discrimination where race takes precedence over merit as official policy.

Financially, instead of lowest tender, our contracts go to the most well-connected politically, with multi-level rent-seekers. The effects are beginning to show in terms of productivity and efficient use of resources. So far, we are lucky to have Petronas to hide our excesses. What happens when the oil runs out?

Singapore, as a small island with very limited natural resources, has been acknowledged worldwide as a developed nation. Whatever criticisms we may have of it, Singapore's development speaks for itself. Unlike the self-proclaimed developed status by Selangor, which is currently the butt of jokes.

The likes must understand that while many non-malays have left the country due to the discriminatory policies institutionalised by the National Economic Policy (NEP), many of us also understand the importance it played in ensuring equal distribution of wealth in this country. It would be naive to say otherwise.

However, the time has come now for a review on how the policy is applied. I am for one, a strong backer of the ideals that the NEP should be shifted from the current race-centric approach to an approach that uses a means test to justify affirmative action.

Poverty eradication regardless of race is stipulated under the NEP, but has this been implemented? All that is being asked is the promotion of equality to wipe out poverty regardless of race as promised by the NEP.

'Modern development economics' as mentioned empowerment to enable the poor and the underprivileged of all races to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and to move forward. But is this being done equitably today in Malaysia?

With due respect, has to come to Malaysia to see for the reality on the ground and to help us all create a more just and equitable society - a Bangsa Malaysia - that will truly promote greater national unity in our country. We who are here are trying to do our best to achieve this.

A nation can never be built on principles of racism, favouritism and discrimination. With the pervasive racial policies and political intervention of the BN monster in the tertiary institutions, dubious quality will still be a feature of our local institutions.

I applaud on what had said. They are presenting the real problems in Malaysia. I think any of you who say Malaysia could not be that bad is either in denial, you are in delusions or you are just got benefits from the government.

The malays who are spending on your tax money on scholarships are not as deserving as they think they are. Why should they be deserved to be given that much when they don't deserve it.

The percentage of malays getting the scholarships are very high. These are the so-called future generation of Malaysia who thrived in mediocrity and racism and being rewarded for it.

One mentioned that don't see malays staying oversea. You are right. So far I don't see any too. Most of them would want to go back. Because like they realised they cannot be useful enough to stay.

They know they have to be unfair to win. They know they need the government to be behind them all the time to ensure their survival. So that is why most of these incompetence choose to go back Malaysia.

But the situation is going to be even worse because in 10 years time down the road. The local universities churning out substandard people and the unemployment rate is going to go higher and higher.

Private sectors and investors from outside would not want people like them. They would just take in enough to fill the spot of their so-called quotas that the government put them in.

That is why you see the IT industry so popular but ironically employers prefer Indians from India or people from oversea. They would even go for expats because they know those are the competent people that can work.

So in years to come, the economy is going down because people in Umno and Umno Youth reward mediocrity and based on race. The scary thing is, they are proud of it too and think they are doing it right and can help Malaysia. Man - that is scary.

Also about the political sentiment they use, if you are patriotic give more to your country. My response is, the country hasn't given me anything why should I give to you o Malaysia.

My friends once told me, I would rather to be treated as second-class citizen in other country like the US or UK than to be treated as second-class citizen in Malaysia. At the very least, your voice is heard than in Malaysia where every good reason falls on death ear.

So if any of malay politician ask me to get out, provide me with the PR of USA and I am on my way.

So if the current PM want to make things right, he must not be afraid to put someone on the chopping block. He should think with integrity not rewarding people because they are cronies. By doing this, you are sending messages that you encourage things to be done this way.

So no wonder corruptions prevail and ton of incompetent people get to sit in the thrones of power. So there is literally no common sense involved except for the sake of covering their own ass. So it is really sickening to hear them praising about progressive society while the foundations of real civilization aren't there.

The malay scholarship holders are taking things for granted. They are paid insanely a lot all around the world as scholars. But look at it this way, that is the end of their career.

Well, not career, job, where you wake up day and night forcing yourself to the job you hate.

So don't get discouraged when you see them living the life. Envious are good, that makes you strive for excellence even more and more trying to beat them.

Since even the lowest pay in Australia, will overtake the pay in Malaysia, easily. If you don't believe me, ask a Australia grad student how much they are paid a month with their fees waived.

I am sure that is a new goal you should set yourself to work on. So carry on, don't despair, and don't give up.

It is not only shocking but also disgusting to see taxpayer's money being wasted on malay students who don't even deserve to go overseas.

The non-malay students with excellent marks cannot even enter local universities. The standard of English is on the decline, is what the newspaper says, but it only of those who study in the local universities and they are predominantly malays as well.

It is easy for one malay to say - I am not discriminating - but try living in the country as a non-malay.

Pork is banned everywhere but beef is served without any care whatsoever about others sensitivities.

You cannot start a program with a Hindu, Christian, Buddhist prayer but Muslim prayer is a must.

For all the stale bulls who believe Malaysia still has hope……….best of luck, as far as I am concerned I am going to be out of this country that practices apartheid.

I believe my children deserve to have equal opportunity in this world.

Many, many thanks for all pertinent comments……….I agree with most of them, being in a similar position myself……….

Points taken. Get a little bit nasty, but that is some facts.

I am an engineer. Like architect and other parties, we design and built houses based on the developer's vision and decision. If the house is very small, poor design, bad finishes but still at an unreasonable high price, I will walk away.

I will advice my friends not to buy it, based on my professional experience and some logic, it is not that difficult, really. But it is their money, they have the freedom to decide what they wanted to do with it.

But believe it or not, someone will still stay there. Can't even afford to buy, consider lucky if they are able to clear the monthly rental.

And I have some malay friends, thinking of emigrating, mainly because most Muslims Malaysia here didn't see things the way they saw it, especially on the religion matters. Oh yes, some perceptions never really change throughout the years.

Once a while I will still welcome my uncle from Australia to visit us here. He is one lucky emigrant, I guess, he is well taken care over there.

It is very sad, it is so sad to see Malaysia's brightest minds are all over the world except Malaysia.

The person who is researching into getting water for Singapore is a Malaysian. The head of Parapsychology in Cambridge is Malaysian. The best doctors in the world many are Malaysians.

Yet, they are nowhere near Malaysia.

In Singapore, it is fast and efficient to get a permanent resident. In fact, foreigners in Singapore are invited to become permanent citizens. Here Malaysia, it takes years and years and years and……….to even be considered to become a permanent citizen. I heard of foreigner whose application was lost and had to resubmit. How is that?

All this while I think many of us are dying to go to Australia, Europe, the US, for a better future……….

Another brilliant Malaysian got scared off by the Malaysia government. Just had a long distance phone conversation with my Malaysian friend who is now pursuing his PhD in civil engineering in the UK.

According to him, he sees no more hope and future in Malaysia and totally ruled out the chance of ever returning, except for the occasional visits to relatives and friends.

Kudos to BN Umno government. When it comes to scaring off all the brilliant brains out of the country, you are clearly a master at it.

I've finally come to enlightenment. If you argue with a fool, it ends up two fools are arguing. When I've done with my business here in Malaysia, I will be packing up for emigration.

I may end up as a second class citizen. Who cares? Since when are we treated like a Bangsa Malaysia anyway after 48 years of independence? I have nothing to lose but everything to gain.

Don't slog and waste your life away in Malaysia. You will never be appreciated. Leave if you can!

First of all, do we have leaders who consider themselves as Malaysians first, and have the confidence to convince their followers to think as Malaysians as well?

But as long as we have leaders who wish to gain as much as possible for their own communities, the concept of a Malaysia with compatible policies and systems will continue to be a dream.

And unfortunately, I must admit that glancing at the present leaders and the various stances taken by them, I am pessimistic that such a Malaysia is possible.

The truth of the matter is that polarisation in Malaysia is caused by the discriminatory practises of the government - especially after the NEP - rather than vernacular education.

What I am saying now is that further polarisation of the Malaysian people along racial lines is an inevitable side effect of the NEP. This is indeed a Malaysian dilemma. This side effect transcends across all sectors, not only education.

I sympathize with those that have benefited from the NEP, but the bad news is that the price he pays for his progress is much higher than what he pays for his benefit.

Even if the government one day chooses to heavy-handedly abolish vernacular schools, racial disunity would only manifest itself in other forms if there is no level-playing ground. Our unity would only be superficial at best.

The face of Malaysia is changing and in a decade the ethnic Chinese in Malaysia will merely represent 20 percent of the country's population. The Indians well below the 10 percent mark. The minorities in Malaysia will have virtually no voice in a country that uses racial politics to govern the country.

With this fact in mind, if Malaysia continues to allow the Barisan Nasional system of governance wherein each ethnic group is represented by a political party in the coalition, then the MCA and the MIC will have a much lesser influence in the BN government.

Alternatively, Malaysians may begin to realise the dream of a new Malaysia.

But of course, the present ruling elite drunken with wealth, will continue to fight this dream to ensure that Malaysia is kept divided so that BN can continue to rule.

The role of government is to ensure a level-playing field for all and to ensure that there are laws to protect free trade and commerce. The role of government is not to enhance the life of one particular political party.

Let all Malaysians be a real part of the country. When everybody feels that they are wanted in this country, man-made barriers like vernacular schools and special rights will cease to exist automatically.

Now is the time to walk the talk, and to show greater resolve in the face of growing resistance to change. The country does not need a crooner on corruption and the crooked. It needs a leader courageous enough to translate his chorus against corruption into concrete reality.

It is time for the 'tell-me-the-truth' PM to show us the truth.
